Children’s 2025 Winter Reading Challenge

                Shorter days and colder weather make winter a great time of the year to snuggle up and read!  This year’s Children’s Winter Reading Challenge begins on January 19^th and runs through March 9^th.  The purpose of this reading challenge is to incentivize children in kindergarten through sixth grades to independently read books of their choice.  Studies have shown that children who read for pleasure experience many benefits including boosting academic achievement, developing empathy, and improving one’s overall well-being.  Encourage your child to become a lifelong reader and sign them up for our Children's Winter Reading Challenge!

WHO:  Children currently in kindergarten through sixth grades

WHEN:  January 19th—March 9th

HOW:

1. Register for the Children’s Winter Reading Challenge on Beanstack.
2. Log minutes that your child reads between January 19th and  March 9th.

PRIZES:

                *For every hour that your child reads, they will earn one drawing  ticket to put towards one of our prize drawings:

                                                - Hoys 5 & 10 gift certificate

                                                -Kay Jay’s Doll Shoppe gift certificate

                                                -Glazed Over gift certificate

                                                -Square Theatre movie gift certificate

                    (Prize drawings will be pulled on March 10th and winners will be notified via email).

                *When your child completes 20 hours of reading, they will receive a book of their choice & prize bag.
